Parent Volunteers
Canebrake Swim Team is ENTIRELY a parent volunteer-run organization, as are all other neighborhood swim teams. Without the help of all parents, the team will not run efficiently. One parent MUST volunteer at each meet where they have a child swimming. Parents with multiple children need only have one parent volunteer at the meet. However, all are welcome to volunteer.
Swim Meets: There are a required number of positions that must be filled at every home and away meet, or the meet cannot run. Each swim meet is divided into two halves. Before and after each Home meet, there are also set-up and tear down responsibilities that are handled by parents. The Swim Meet Primer on the SAIL website is a great overview of a swim meet and can help new parents understand how a swim meet operates.
